For school wellbeing teams
Art therapy programs for schools
I run small-group art therapy sessions for students of all ages, on school grounds, in a format that your wellbeing or counselling team can refer into.
How it helps students
Students use paint, clay and collage to express themselves, bring awareness to emotional regulation, identity and belonging, strengths and interests and to build confidence and feel heard, without having to find the words first. Art making in a group breaks down isolation through finding commonality, accepting difference and seeing new perspectives.
Sessions are warm and low pressure. There is no art experience needed and nothing is graded or judged.
What a program looks like
- Small groups, run in a quiet room on your school grounds.
- Open to referrals from your counselling and wellbeing team.
- Open Art Studio sessions for students in their lunch break: a calm, safe space to try something new and express themselves.
- One consistent therapist for every session, with a clear program plan agreed with you.
- All art materials supplied.
Younger students
For primary-age students, programs include more play and hands-on making, paced for younger children. Talk to me about what suits your year levels.
